Trend for ever more energy efficient appliances continues to grow

Far from waning, the trend of consumers replacing their kitchen appliances for newer and more energy-efficient models is continually rising in popularity, according to manufacturer Gorenje, whom keenly noted that 83% of its existing product range is rated A or above.

Gorenje say that consumers are investing in energy-efficient appliances to save money on running costs and boost their “green credentials”, with refrigerators having attained the A+++ energy efficiency rating cited as using 60% less power than those in the A class, according to Gorenje.

“Here at Gorenje, we’ve had a noted increase in our customers asking about energy efficiency and prioritising this when it comes to the appliances they’re stocking,” said Gorenje UK product manager Richard Mackey.

“As people become more aware of their own eco credentials and how this in turn can affect their own running costs at home, the nation as a whole is taking a move towards appliances in the higher rated categories.”

He added: “As a manufacturer, we’ve always prioritised energy efficiency and it’ll certainly be at the top of the agenda for production in 2018.”

Arguably one of the most successful exports to come out of Slovenia, appliance brand Gorenje has just marked its 14th year of trading in the UK and Ireland and its products are gaining increased popularity.
