Indigenous launches a collection of wooden basins, made from solid ash beams

Combining sleek designs and tactile timbers, the new collection of wooden basins and baths from Indigenous offers a very different option for the bathroom. Each characterful creation is crafted from a robust slab of timber, with a gently sloping ‘wave-like’ bowl hollowed out of the centre. The collection includes five individual designs, in shades spanning from a rich mahogany tone to a pale, lime-washed finish.

The solid ash beams, used to craft the basins, are each dried or ‘seasoned’ for between 9 to 12 months. The blocks are then hollowed out, polished and treated with eight individual layers of finish, which waterproofs the top, sides and underneath of the basins. Designs span from neat single bowls to capacious double-winged formats, varying in length from 500mm to 1500mm. All designs are wall-hung to create a ‘floating’ effect and can be positioned with matching furniture to sit underneath or to one side.

Indigenous is a well established and key UK supplier of natural flooring and wall products. We offer many varieties of limestone, wood, slate, marble and terracotta. More recently, Indigenous has expanded its offering to include unique bathroom pieces and stunning eye-catching furniture and accessories. Our focus is natural, often handmade, products that have distinct texture and form. We have a wide variety of customers ranging from home and business owners, to architects and interior designers.

A warm welcome awaits at the Indigenous Cotswold showroom, on the edge of the picturesque, medieval town of Burford. (Just 20 miles west of Oxford, and close to road and rail links!) and although their products are a little pricey, they are fantastic creations, the likes of which you simply can't get in
