Lighting specialist Sensio is reported to be investing heavily in the UK by bringing more manufacturing capacity and product development back to our shores in a move that will no doubt further aid the KBB sector.
Managing director Michael Linsky was quoted as saying that the rising manufacturing costs in China and a “desire to invest in the UK market” were key factors behind this decision as the company celebrates its eighth anniversary next month in May.
“Sensio has been around for eight years. The company is maturing and the brand is well established so we’re looking at our how we can take the business on to the next stage. We believe that to do that properly we have to invest in the market by designing and manufacturing products here in the UK.”
Sensio has introduced a multi step design and production process that it claims identifies the exact needs of the market before designing and producing a new solution to fruition and of this Linsky commented;
“The first stage is discovery, working out what people want, and then we follow that process all the way through to perfecting the product for sale and that is all now done here in the UK,” said Linsky. “We are designing lighting solutions for the UK market here in the UK. Everything we produce now is our own idea and own design and that’s our philosophy moving forward.
“There’s loads of design talent here and we strongly believe that there’s no longer a need to go outside of the UK to get new ideas because we have all of the right resources here on our doorstep.”
In addition to this and Sensio having recently introduced a wealth of new products, Sensio has also just released two new brochures to showcase its latest lighting innovations.
The main catalogue has been updated to include more company and product information, along with new imagery but the new brochure is far more than just a product portfolio. It is an exciting but also an information point and reference tool which is now also larger in size,
The Sensio full colour, 96 page brochure offers advice on why LED is best, where to install different light fittings and the importance of selecting the correct colour temperature and it has been created to provide retailers with the information they need in order to make specifying the correct lighting scheme an easy task.
In addition to the main catalogue, Sensio has also created a ‘mini-catalogue’, which is compact in size but includes the brands newly launched and most popular designs. All of the key facts and figures on LED lighting, colour temperature and Sensio’s ‘connecting by colour’ system are also included.
Sensio’s ‘mini-catalogue’ will be distributed to each of Sensio’s retailers. To request a copy of the main brochure, retailers should email their details to email@example.com.
