Houzz identifies top growing Kbb trends for 2025

Online home design platform Houzz has analyzed search trends from its vast community of over 70 million users and uncovered some of the top Kbb trends for 2025 taking over UK homes in 2025.

Among the most popular Kbb trends for 2025 are luxurious bathroom features, coffee stations, oak kitchens, and an overall shift toward wood-dominant interiors.

The Rise of Luxurious Bathrooms

According to Houzz, the standout trend for 2025 is the growing desire for opulent bathrooms. The platform reports a nearly 750% increase in searches for "double vanity" units this year, with “double shower” searches rising by 172%. There’s also a noticeable rise in interest for freestanding baths, which are up by 53%, and marble bathrooms, seeing a 51% increase in searches

Coffee Stations and Home Bars Are in Demand

The trend toward dedicated spaces for drinks and relaxation is also on the rise. Houzz has recorded a 77% surge in searches for "coffee stations" this year. Similarly, interest in "drinks cabinets" has grown by 56%, while searches for "home bars" and "wine cellars" are up by 48% and 43%, respectively.

Wood-Dominant Interiors Gain Popularity

Wood is making a major comeback in interiors, with searches for “oak kitchens” soaring by 214%. The broader category of "wood kitchens" has also seen a 116% increase. Additionally, wood wall treatments, such as "wooden slat walls" and "wood panels," are trending on the platform, reflecting a broader preference for natural materials in the home.

Emphasis on Natural Lighting and Open Spaces

When it comes to architectural preferences, Houzz notes a clear shift toward maximizing natural light. Searches for “skylights” have risen by 115%, while searches for “orangeries” have jumped by 94%. Glass features are also gaining traction, with “glass wall partitions” seeing a massive 202% increase in searches this year.

A Surge in Pink Home Decor

Colour trends are also evolving, with pink emerging as a dominant choice in interiors. Searches for “pink” home ideas have increased by 2.5 times, with particular interest in pink bathrooms (up 114%), pink kitchens (up 112%), and pink bedrooms (up nearly 60%).

Aligning with Houzz's 2025 Predictions

Earlier this year, Houzz released its forecast for the top home design trends of 2025, and the current search data shows that many of these predictions are already coming to life. One of the platform’s key forecasts was the continued rise of colourful bathrooms, particularly with retro-style hues like green, teal, and pastel pink. Houzz predicts that these tones will be a major part of bathroom designs in 2025, with a modern twist on vintage shades.

Another prediction was the increasing popularity of plaster pink kitchens, a soft, warm shade that blends well with pale wood and white tones, but also pairs beautifully with dark green, a colour that remains popular in kitchen design.

Houzz also noted the growing trend of hidden utility spaces, with homeowners looking for innovative ways to incorporate practical rooms like laundry zones into smaller areas, such as bathrooms or stairwells. This trend is expected to continue in 2025, especially as homeowners seek to optimize space in smaller properties.

The Future of Home Design: Arches and More

In addition to these kitchen and bathroom trends, Houzz anticipates that arches and arch-inspired elements will continue to dominate interiors in 2025. The platform describes archways as a soothing design element, one that will likely be a key feature in home design going forward.

Across the broader home design landscape, Houzz is also predicting a resurgence of richly patterned wallpaper, the embrace of "intentional clutter" over minimalism, folklore-inspired décor, and even flood-resistant gardening techniques.

At Kitchens-Kitchens we thought that when Houzz said that "pink kitchens" would be a trend in 2025 we did a double take and considered that perhaps Houzz was keeping it under wraps that former model Katie Price was to enter the Kbb industry in 2025 and bring her famous love of pink to a new venture? If not, it is difficult to see pink becoming so popular in 2025.

Whilst Houzz has said that it has seen a 112% surge in its users searching for "pink kitchens" so far in 2025, which could support its Kbb trends for 2025 prediction, we are somewhat skeptical of the 'search trends' filtering down into a real world demand increase and a rise in "pink kitchens" enquiries across the UK.

Given that Houzz is such a popular and widely used network, with some 70 million active users, you could argue that the reason for the search increase for "pink Kitchens" is merely a response to Houzz users searching for proof that the trend for "pink kitchens" is real, since Houzz made that prediction.

If we start to see a rise in kitchen designers posting client jobs featuring "pink kitchens" then fair enough, but until then, we remain skeptical of the pink kitchens prediction being among the Kbb trends for 2025 and it would seem that Schuller kitchens agree, seeing as they dropped their Pale Rose Pink from the Colour Concepts range due to exceptionally low demand.
