BiKBBI Rebrands as BIFIS to Reflect Expanded Industry Role

The organisation formerly known as the British Institute of Kitchen, Bedroom & Bathroom Installation has officially rebranded as the British Institute of Fitted Interiors Specialists, marking a significant step in its ongoing development.

The new name reflects the institute’s broader remit within the fitted interiors sector. As a government-sanctioned body, BIFIS will focus on driving positive change, raising installation standards, and supporting all areas of the industry.

Damian Walters, CEO of BIFIS, said the rebrand signals a forward-looking approach. He highlighted that, for nearly 20 years, the organisation has supported registered businesses, industry stakeholders, and the wider sector, with the new identity better representing the scope of that work.

He also emphasised that while the organisation’s name has changed, its core mission remains the same—continuing to improve standards, develop talent, and build consumer confidence across the industry.

Alongside the rebrand, BIFIS has introduced a refreshed visual identity and a comprehensive brand toolkit. These materials have been distributed to stakeholders, with guidance encouraging consistent adoption across all channels to ensure a smooth and unified transition.

Walters described the change as more than a rebrand, positioning it as a renewed commitment to the professionals and businesses within the sector, and to recognising the skill and expertise fitted interiors specialists bring to homes across Britain.
